1) Plan
As with any assessment, you should start off by looking at the brief, marking criteria and marking rubric, then plan how you will present what is being asked of you. When working on your assessment you'll probably include a start, a number of middle sections, a conclusion, finally followed by references.
Can you split your response into sections? If so, how about 1 myPortfolio page per section?
Example: Research into Physical fitness for Dancers.
I know that there are 5 main components of physical fitness for dance that need to be discussed, plus I'd need an introduction, a conclusion and a reference list. Therefore I could create an 8 page portfolio with the following titles:
- Introduction
- 1) Aerobic
- 2) Anaerobic
- 3) Flexibility
- 4) Balance
- 5) Strength
- Conclusion
- References
Have a go at splitting your assessment into sections: Intro, Middle 1, Middle 2, Middle 3, conclusion, references. If you're struggling to understand what is being asked of you, then have a look at the Understanding the Question section in Succeed@Solent.
2) Build
Once you have planned the outline of what you want to say, the next step is to build the framework of your portfolio. In this stage you'll be creating all the pages you'll need, grouping them together as a 'collection', and finally choosing a theme.

3) Compile
So, you've planned what you're going to say, you've built the framework in which to put your work, now it's time to compile your evidence and thoughts that will address each section.
Remember that in myPortfolio you can do so much more than upload word docs (that don't look that interesting!). You can convert your documents into PDFs that can be embedded into a page (eg your research docs, powerpoint slides, photo/look books, CVs...). You can also include images, video, audio as well as socail media tools.

4) Submit
The submission process may seem complex at first, but don't worry - just follow the support guide below or watch the videos in the next few pages.
You are required to upload an exported zipfile to myCourse as it shows how your work 'looked' before the deadline. The work in the zipfile will be graded - the link to your live page is used to see what it looks like with your theme applied (if any).
