Achievement in lockdown...
Here is when I decided to raise money during the first Covid lockdown to purchase reading books, activities, crafts, and jigsaws for a number of supported living houses I was working in at the time. Lockdown was hard for everyone for different reasons but I really felt for these individuals: not allowed to see family or friends but don't understand why, to have to wear a mask and not understand what for, shops, days centers, and clubs all canceled for such a long time and a lot more time in the house with housemates and staff. Everyone got very bored, very quickly, and walking into the house now just felt very different. I was hoping to raise £120 and after a couple of weeks, it resulted in £550 being raised so I was very happy with my achievement and the support I received from everyone donating. All the ladies were so happy and really made everyone's day when I bought in all the stock. We ended up making models and bracelets and painting self-portraits, coloring, sticking, gardening and cooking to fill everyone's day!
When I grow up...
The career path I hope to go onto after university is a Career path working with individuals with Autism. I hope to become a speech and language therapist or a behavior therapist. I love the idea of these job roles as I can make a difference, improve quality of life, give the skills needed to free any restriction in people's everyday life, witness growth, promote independence and good mental health, all while doing something I love and enjoy.

Hello and welcome to my portfolio!
My name is Charlotte Morris and welcome to my E portfolio. If I were to describe myself briefly, I would say I'm an active, adventurous, fun, passionate, and kind person very much interested in the world of Autism, and promoting that everyone should have the freedom to live without restriction. I'm studying a 3-year Psychology course at Solent University, currently in my first year of study, after having a seven-year break from education. In my seven-year break, is when I really found the passion and drive to work with individuals with autism; I worked as a healthcare assistant, support worker, senior support worker, and an independent befriender and absolutely loved seeing positive change, individual achievements, and others overcoming personal issues. Knowing that I was a small helping hand to aid them to get there was a great sense of achievement. Working with lots of different people, no two days are the same, similar to my personal life. I'm a single mother to my 7-year-old daughter who is just the most perfect version of me. We do everything together and my biggest asset. We are very outdoorsy people who love the natural environment and the animals that come with it!
I enjoy...

Layout of my portfolio:
My aim for creating this portfolio is to highlight my potential, accomplishments, and relevant skills. I will do this by splitting my portfolio into seven sections:
- Introduction which is this page you're looking at now, with general information about me and my life.
- The overview approach page will give you details on how I've approached my portfolio, by describing and explaining what reflective model I choose to use throughout my reflections.
- The academic development section will showcase evidence of my academic development and a reflective commentary using my chosen model.
- Researcher development section with details on how I've progressed as a researcher and a reflection highlighting my strengths and weaknesses.
- The employability section will show my employability skills and abilities with evidence and a reflective commentary.
- Infographic page where I have created an infographic on a real-world issue or situation. I choose the subject of Autism. I have also included a reflective commentary talking about how my infographic is underpinned by psychology and psychology literature.
- The conclusion page will be my final page where I will bring all three sections of development together with a final reflective commentary.
My main focus throughout my portfolio is to provide evidence on my academic/research/employability development I have already achieved at university. Then identify and set targets in my reflective commentary for what I should aim to achieve in the next year at university, to then leave university with the relevant strengths, skills, experience, and confidence to adventure into my specific target career.
